Exodus 36
Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.
Exodus 36:1
The Lord uses the skills that He puts in us for His greater purpose, and we have the choice to use those skills in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded. Every craftsman here has skill because God gave it to them, and that skill and intelligence helps to build His sanctuary. We see the same thing in Matthew chapter 4 when Jesus calls His first disciples, Simon and Andrew, who are fishermen, and God takes the skill He put in them to make them fishers of men. God puts skill and intelligence into us so we may know how to do the work that builds His kingdom, if we choose to work in accordance with His commands.
We can wield the skills and intelligence that God has given us to work for His kingdom or to work for ourselves. No skill or bit of wisdom that God has so generously gifted us is useless. Moses goes so far as to say any work in the construction of the sanctuary. This doesn't mean that only a few people can do the big work. Any contribution that goes towards the construction of God's sanctuary counts, and every craftsman whom God has gifted with skill can provide towards it.
Any of us gifted with any skill can use it to build God's kingdom. Sometimes it takes a little bit of creativity to know how, and it may not be as obvious as being a pastor or starting a new ministry. But it might look like a simple skill, like being good at making new friends, going to coffee with new people, and letting them know that you are building God's kingdom.
